The Minnesota Twins have announced the complete schedule for their 2017 Spring Training campaign.
Twins pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report on Monday, Feb. 13, with their first workout slated for Tuesday, Feb. 14. The balance of the squad is scheduled to report on Saturday, Feb. 18, with full-squad workouts beginning on Sunday, Feb. 19.
The Twins 2017 spring schedule features 35 games (18 home, 17 road) starting with the home opener at CenturyLink Sports Complex against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday, February 24. The Twins then head across town for their first road game on Saturday, February 25 at JetBlue Park against the Boston Red Sox.
Highlighting the Twins 15 home Grapefruit League games will be three contests against the A.L. East Champion Boston Red Sox (March 11, 18 and 26); a visit by the N.L. East Champion Washington Nationals (February 26); a game against the A.L. Wild Card Toronto Blue Jays (March 4); Minnesota Day against the A.L. Wild Card Baltimore Orioles (March 12); and two visits by the St. Louis Cardinals (March 6 & 15).
In addition to the home Grapefruit League schedule the Twins will play host to World Baseball Classic teams at the CenturyLink Sports Complex in 2017. On back-to-back days the Twins will host Team USA (March 8) and Team Colombia (March 9). Additionally, the Twins end 2017 Spring Training with an exhibition game against the club’s longtime Triple-A minor league affiliate Rochester Red Wings on Friday, March 31 at Hammond Stadium.
