The Minnesota Twins selected an outfielder and a catcher with picks in the first two rounds of the Major League Baseball Draft Monday.
The Twins selected Oregon State outfielder Trevor Larnach with the 20th overall pick. The 21-year-old Larnach is hitting .327 with 13 doubles, 17 home runs and 65 RBIs in 214 at-bats this season.
The Beavers will play the Minnesota Gophers this weekend in the Super Regional round of the NCAA Tournament. Larnach was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 40th round out of College Park High School in Pleasant Hill, California, in 2015, but he did not sign.
In the second round, the Twins selected catcher Ryan Jeffers from North Carolina Wilmington with the 59th pick overall.
