The Minnesota Twins entered July 4 eleven games out of first place in the American League Central Division with a definite need for a July pickmeup.

After Thursday’s loss to the Yankees, the Twins fell eight games under the .500 mark with three games left with New York over the holiday weekend.

The Twins  have three day games with the Yankees, starting with a 2:10 first pitch Friday.

Kansas City was idle Thursday and dropped five games back of the first place Tigers who earned another win.
