After recently signing a new pitching coach, the Minnesota Twins now must find a new bench coach.

Longtime coach Joe Vavra is leaving the Twins to join former Minnesota skipper Ron Gardenhire’s staff with the Detroit Tigers.

Vavra had served in several capacities for the Twins from hitting coach to third base coach to bench coach for manager Paul Molitor.

The Twins recently named Garvin Alston as the new pitching coach replacing Neil Allen.
