Twins Make Draft Picks

Day One of the Major League baseball draft saw the Minnesota Twins make three picks in the top 54 selections.

First round choice( #13 overall) was high school third baseman Keoni Cavaco from Eastlake High School in California.

The Twins also took outfielder Matt Wallner from Southern Mississippi at #39 and right-handed pitcher
Matt Canterino of Rice at #54.

The Baltimore Orioles had the top selection in the draft and picked catcher Adley Rutschman of Oregon State. Rutschman is the first catcher selected first overall since Joe Mauer in 2001.

With the second pick, the Kansas City Royals took high school shortstop Bobby Witt, Jr., the son of longtime big league pitcher Bobby Sr.
