Neil Walker hit a run-scoring double in the first inning for the Pittsburgh Pirates in a 1-1 tie against the Minnesota Twins on Monday.

Walker drove in Andrew McCutchen, who hit a two-out double off Ricky Nolasco.

Miguel Sano, a top Twins prospect who missed last season following elbow ligament-replacement surgery, homered in the second off Gerrit Cole.

Cole gave up three hits in three innings, struck out two and walked two. He also doubled off Alex Meyer in the third and advanced on a wild pitch but was traded when Sterling Marte struck out.

Nolasco allowed two hits in two innings, struck out three and walked none.
