The Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians had their wild-card chase sidetracked by rain Tuesday night, leading to a postponement and forcing the clubs to play a doubleheader Wednesday.
The game never got started, and after a 1-hour, 10-minute delay, the umpires decided to call it a night. Minnesota and Cleveland will begin Wednesday’s first game at 3:10 p.m central time, with the second game starting 30 minutes after completion of the opener.
The Twins are scheduled to start Kyle Gibson and Mike Pelfrey. Carlos Carrasco will start Game 1 for Cleveland, and rookie Cody Anderson will pitch the second game
The Twins remain a game and a half out of a wild card spot.
