Students attending the University of Nebraska system should prepare for tuition hikes due to funding cuts in the 2017-2019 budget cycle. Regent Hal Daub says they are studying the issue carefully.
There was a Legislative Appropriations Committee meeting this week and Daub says a lot will depend on how much funding is cut.
Daub says it is still too premature to determine how much that tuition increase will be but historically increases have run about 3% year-over-year increase now. Depending on the funding outcome that could increase between five and eight percent.
