The South Dakota Board of Regents has endorsed a tuition freeze as their top priority for next year. That would add about five million dollars to their budget request.

Governor Dennis Daugaard says he has supported the freeze in the past…

 

Daugaard says the freeze will depend on how much money the legislature will have to spend, and so far the new fiscal year looks pretty good…

 

The Regents say the freeze is needed to keep state tuition competitive with neighboring states.
