France’s Agriculture Minister says the Trans Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership deal between the E.U. and the United States may be doomed. He says at this point his country would vote against it because it benefits the U.S. more than Europe. National Farmers Union Senior Vice President of Programs Chandler Goule says his group has concerns with how the deal is progressing.
He says there are some significant sticking points yet in the TTIP agreement.
Goule says due to the limited time Congress has before the election, it’s likely the TTIP will get pushed off to the next administration.
Prior to the latest remarks from France’s ag minister it was thought real progress had been made at the latest TTIP talks, however that now has changed.
