Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump’s senior adviser Sam Clovis told reporters last week that crop insurance needs to be protected as a matter of national security. Iowa Corn Grower’s President Kurt Hora is pleased to see the issue is getting the backing of at least one Presidential candidate.
He’s hoping both Trump and Democratic nominee Hilary Clinton will bring more ag issues to the forefront including trade, markets and renewable fuels.
Hora is also hoping the success story of the increase in U.S. ethanol exports comes to the attention of all the political candidates.
Trump’s adviser made his comments while speaking at an agriculture round table discussion.
