Republicans at this week’s National Convention are expected to nominate Donald Trump for President and Indiana Governor Mike Pence for Vice President. Iowa Renewable Fuels Association Executive Director Monte Shaw says he thinks Pence will be friendly to agriculture and renewable fuels as he originally voted for the Renewable Fuels Standard.

He says what he’s most concerned about is getting RFS support from both Presidential candidates.

Current Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack has been one of those mentioned as a possible running mate for presumed Democrat Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton. Shaw says if Vilsack gets the nod, that would be positive for renewable fuels and the future of the RFS.

Two of the other possibilities for Clinton’s running mate are Labor Secretary Tom Perez and Virginia Senator Tim Kaine. Shaw isn’t sure where either Perez or Kaine would stand on the RFS.
