Yesterday, U.S. trades reps along with Ag Secretary Perdue met with President Trump to craft a trade strategy that will lead to ongoing negotiations with China – Trump and Xi meet on November 30th at the G20.
USTR Chief Ag Negotiator Gregg Doud spoke at the NAFB convention and says he’s not sure what that agenda entails.
Doud has been laying the groundwork in China prior to the G20 meeting and says his initial discussions with his counterparts in China have been positive.
Doud says he believes the deal will be short term pain for long term gain and he’s hopeful U.S. farmers will be able to rebuild their positive long-standing relationship with China.
Doud admits he’s not sure what the final deal with China will look like.
