Minnesota Farm Bureau members have three priority measures they want to make headway on this state legislative session. Public Policy Director Doug Busselman says those include transportation funding for upkeep of roads and bridges, tweaking of the buffer zone law and property tax relief. He says transportation funding is a major priority they want to finance with bonding.
He says bonding allows legislators to use state credit to borrow money for infrastructure and pay back the loans through the general fund.
Busselman says they also want to fix the buffer bill that was approved last session to make it more workable for farmers and ranchers.
He says their final priority is getting some type of property tax relief approved for ag producers.
