One of the big transportation bills will be up for debate again in the House State Affairs Committee tomorrow (Tuesday).

District 18 Representative Mike Stevens of Yankton, a member of that committee, says they have been drilling down on road costs from the Department of Transportation…

Stevens says he thinks most lawmakers are ready to support something that would increase funding for roads…

Stevens says while the gas tax increase is needed, there is still disagreement on how long that should extend…

A legislative summer committee had recommended about one hundred million dollars in new taxes and fees, while the Governor cut that to about fifty million dollars.

The legislature is off today (Monday).
