Following the recent Trans Pacific Partnership talks in Hawaii, many are optimistic about Ministers agreeing soon on a final deal. Canadian Cattlemen’s Association’s Director of Government and International Relations, John Masswohl, who was the talks, says he thinks they’ll be able to reach a deal soon.

Masswohl says there are some sticking points that need to be overcome. One of those involves both Canada and the United States with Japan over beef access.

Masswohl says other sensitive areas that yet to be negotiated include sugar, automobiles and intellectual property rights.
