The 2017 South Dakota legislature may again debate some gender related bills. A bill that would have restricted the use of rest rooms and locker rooms in public schools by trans gender people was vetoed by Governor Dennis Daugaard at the end of this year’s session.
Dave Owen, President of the state Chamber of Commerce and Industry, says there was at least one bill in the last session that got into the business sector…..

Owen says legislators have to be careful with any restrictive bills….

Owen says he is hearing from some of his members on the issue….

The 2017 session begins on January 10th.
