Trans Canada has withdrawn its application from the Nebraska Public Service Commission to build their Keystone XL pipeline in the state. BOLD Nebraska Director Jane Kleeb says the move follows the President turning down their federal permit.
She says the only option Trans Canada has for renewing their efforts to build the Keystone XL in the U.S. lies with the result of next year’s U.S. Presidential election.
Kleeb says her group will continue fighting for landowners in court in Nebraska. They’re challenging the state law that was put in place giving the Governor authority over pipeline approvals.
Trans Canada has also pulled out of that court action although the case is moving forward with a possible decision expected by the end of this month.
