Trans Canada Continues Search for Pipeline Leak in Hutchinson County

Crews working for Trans Canada continue to look for a potential leak in the Keystone oil pipeline south of Freeman.
Brian Walsh is with the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources…..

The potential leak was reported early Saturday afternoon, and oil shipments were shut down.
Walsh says finding the leak depends on how and where it happened….

A small amount of oil was seen in a ditch near the pipeline route.
Walsh says they continue to watch the progress of the investigation….

Trans Canada has had crews working on the site 24 – 7 in an effort to locate and repair the leak.
