This week Trans Canada officials asked the U.S. State Department to pause in its review of a permit application for their Keystone XL Pipeline. BOLD Nebraska Energy Director Ben Gotschall says he thinks Trans Canada believes President Obama is going to turn down their permit application.
Gotschall says recently Trans Canada has been backing down on Keystone XL, whether it be this latest request to the State Department or their recent dropping of court action in Nebraska.
He says a new President will impact the pipeline decision. He suggests there are two different scenarios if one of the two frontrunners in the Presidential campaign are elected.
Gotschall says it’s tough to predict when President Obama may hand down a decision on Keystone XL. He says some think he may do it during the upcoming world climate talks.
