Trade War Not Good for Nebraska

Vice President Mike Pence defended threatened tariffs on steel and aluminum imports during rallies in the Omaha metropolitan area, saying President Trump will always put American workers, American companies, and American farmers first.
Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse rejects the assessment and says increased prices for imported steel will hurt both consumers and producers. Sasse says if Pence truly believes that statement, he needs to answer a question. . .

Sasse says President Trump is wrong to threaten to slap tariffs on imported steel and aluminum, touching off a likely trade war. . .

Sasse claims increase tariffs on steel and aluminum won’t keep any jobs in the United States and most likely will lead to a loss of jobs here.
