Trade Promotion Authority Vote Expected to Be a Close One

The National Council of Farmer Cooperatives is urging Senators to approve the trade promotion authority legislation. NCFC President and CEO Chuck Connor says it’ll be a close vote like they usually are. He says TPA is needed in order to deliver trade agreements that provide new export opportunities for America’s farmers.

Connor says passing TPA will lead to expanded trade and breaking down of barriers overseas. He says it will hopefully pass the Senate soon so work can begin in the House on getting the measure through and on to the President.

Connor says it’s also important that Senators refrain from including any amendment that would jeopardize passage and enactment of TPA.
