Trade Promotion Authority Still Up for Consideration

Trade Promotion Authority supporters will try to get the Trade Adjustment Assistance legislation reconsidered this week. When TAA went down Friday, it pulled down TPA, which actually received an approval vote. Nebraska Farmers Union President, John Hansen says the Farmers Union which opposes TPA will work to try and keep the 302 to 126 majority they achieved last week in stopping fast track.

Hansen says the only way to get positive trade deals is if TPA is defeated and the entire policy is re worked.

Hansen says in order for the United States to achieve a level playing field with trade agreements, currency manipulation and value added taxes must be dealt with.
