One of the primary topics at this week’s Nebraska Governor’s Agriculture Conference was trade. Governor Pete Ricketts says President Trump’s goal is to go after bilateral deals. He’s urging the administration to get going on those as soon as possible.

Nebraska Ag Director Greg Ibach says trade is one of the ways to improve a depressed ag economy.

Ricketts says it’s also important for the Senate to quickly confirm the President’s nominees for Trade Representative and Ag Secretary to assist with pursuing bilateral trade deals.

The Governor and Ibach both say that they’re also close to launching a marketing program that will promote certified beef from Nebraska, cattle born and raised in the state.
