Trade is part of the discussion going on in San Antonio, Texas this week at the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Convention. NCBA’s Director of International Trade and Market Access Kent Bacus is sharing with members the trade victories the U.S. beef industry achieved over the last few months.
He says NCBA will also be working on new trade deals this year and in the future.
Bacus says once Canada ratifies the USMCA, the focus will shift to trade deals with the United Kingdom and possibly Indonesia.
Bacus says more complex trade talks such as with India will take time. He also expects some market movement into Sub Saharan Africa.
