Congressional passage of the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement tops President Obama’s agenda for 2016.  It’s also a priority for the Iowa Pork Producers Association.  President Dave Struthers says the entire country will benefit if the trade deal is approved.

Struthers is pleased Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley also has the TPP at the top of his agenda for next year.  He says it’s important to have bi-partisan backing to get the trade deal ratified.

House Speaker Paul Ryan also backs the TPP and wants to take a vote as soon as possible.  Ryan says the deal gives the United States the ability to write the rules of global trade in the fastest growing region in the world.
