Voters in the Mission Hill North township in Yankton County will decide on the future of their township in a special election next week.
A petition to abolish the township and return to unorganized status was approved and set the stage for the election.

Yankton County Commission Chairman Dan Klimisch says it would mean changes for township roads…

Klimisch says the county highway department is very busy now..

Klimisch says while it might mean a slight decrease in taxes paid by those in the township, county taxes go into the general fund….

A public notice says the election will be next Tuesday, the 29th, at Vangen Lutheran Church in Mission Hill.
