Consumers will get the chance to see how the dairy products they love are made on tours of the SDSU Davis Dairy Plant Saturday. It’s part of the 4th Annual Dairy Fest in Brookings, South Dakota. SDSU Dairy Science Department Head Dr. Vikram Mistry says they enjoy giving consumers an inside look at dairy processing.

He says the tours are important for consumers because it’s easy to take for granted how dairy products show up safely and affordably at their table.

Mistry says the SDSU dairy plant is run by students who process milk into various products. That milk is produced at the University dairy farm just north of campus.
