As the icy winds of winter howl, sometimes it’s comforting to think of a leisurely bike ride in the warm breezes of summer. The route is being announced for the annual Tour de Nebraska bicycle adventure, scheduled for June 22nd through the 26th. Tour director Susan Rodenburg says the cyclists will start in the town of Springview for what will be a 275-mile round-trip journey across north-central Nebraska.

The first Tour de Nebraska ride was in 1988, making this the 29th year for the trek. Between 200 and 300 cyclists take part, many returning year after year.

Rodenburg says she will be on a bike too.

She calls it a non-competitive circle tour with a unique route each year, providing an exceptional opportunity to experience Nebraska from the seat of a bicycle.
