/Weather Channel

See amazing and very frightening video of the Pilger, NE tornado HERE.

Evacuated Residents of Pilger, Nebraska, don’t have much to go back to today.  Folks are expected to be allowed in to survey the damage and gather valuables that they may find. A storm with dual tornadoes tore through the northeast Nebraska town, killing a 5-year-old and damaging more than half of the community’s structures.

Downtown, gone. St. John’s Lutheran Church, gone. A 6-by-6 block area of homes that make up nearly all of Pilger, gone.

Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger says, “It’s 10 times worse than Wayne.”

Gov. Dave Heineman will be traveling to the area this morning to survey storm damage.
