A lot of us would rather not think about it yet, but officials say now is a good time to schedule a fill-up for your propane tank in preparation for the fall heating season. Bill Grant with the Minnesota Commerce Department:

Grant says a law passed after the propane shortage in 2014 requires most propane distributors to offer a budget payment plan to customers. Distributors are also required to inform customers of the current price per gallon and any additional charges, fees and discounts. Extra fees are prohibited.
