Time is running out for one of the major pieces of legislation the Nebraska Unicameral is considering this session.
Lawmakers debated Governor Pete Ricketts’ tax cut proposal on Tuesday for three hours without resolution.
Senator Jim Smith of Papillion still needs 33 votes to overcome a filibuster of his bill and take it to a vote. . .
Smith says he will consider amendments to garner the votes needed within certain parameters. . .
The proposal cuts both property taxes and the corporate income tax. It also includes five million dollars for job training. The package totals more than 600-Million dollars once fully implemented by the year 2030.
