Minnesota Timberwolves center Gorgui Dieng will take part in the NBA’s first game in Africa this summer.

The exhibition scheduled for Aug. 1 in Johannesburg will feature a team comprising players born in Africa or with parents who were born there facing a group of players from the rest of the world. Dieng grew up in Senegal before coming to the United States for college. The Wolves drafted him with the 21st overall pick in 2013 out of Louisville.

The NBA announced the rosters on Thursday. The African team will be coached by Gregg Popovich of the San Antonio Spurs.

The league will host a series of basketball-related events for youth in conjunction with the event. More than 35 players from Africa have appeared on an NBA roster since 1984.
