Trae Young had 38 points and 11 rebounds and John Collins added 27 points and 12 rebounds to lead Atlanta past Minnesota 127-120, as the teams braced for major roster shifts.
Andrew Wiggins scored 25 and Josh Okogie 23 to lead the Wolves. Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 21 points as Minnesota lost its 13th straight game.
Atlanta and Minnesota are part of a four-team, 12-player deal a day ahead of the league’s trade deadline.
The Rockets got Robert Covington and Jordan Bell from Minnesota, plus Golden State’s 2024 second-round pick from the Hawks. Atlanta received centers Clint Capela and Nenê (neh-NAY’) from Houston. Denver picked up Gerald Green from Houston along with the Rockets’ 2020 first-round pick. The Nuggets also landed Keita Bates-Diop, Shabazz Napier and Noah Vonleh (VAHn’-lkay) from Minnesota. The Wolves came away with Brooklyn’s 2020 first-round pick and Evan Turner from Atlanta, plus Malik Beasley, Jarred Vanderbilt and Juancho Hernangomez (WAHN’-choh hur-nahn-GOH’-mehz) from Denver.
