All five members of the Federal Communications Commission appeared before the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation to talk about their “Open Internet Order.”

Committee Chairman, South Dakota Senator John Thune says the FCC is pushing too hard for regulation…

Thune says while there should be oversight, he believes Congress should hold authority over the internet…

Thune says the massive rules issued by the FCC would pull the internet into the past…

Thune said he wanted to tie the net rules proposed by the commission into discussion of legislation to reauthorize the FCC. The FCC’s federal authorization expired about twenty five years ago.
