South Dakota Senator John Thune has sent a letter to the federal Surface Transportation Board calling for more insight to the railroad backlog.  He says that with more transparency, the state can work more efficiently with the rail companies to solve the problem…

 

Rail shuttles are now bringing record high prices at auctions, but Thune says those prices aren’t sustainable…

 

Thune is hoping the STB will provide prompt response to his letter and the problem can be solved before this year’s harvest begins to backlog shipments even further.
