Members of United Farmers Cooperative, Farmers Elevator Cooperative and Cooperative Elevator Association are voting on a possible merger of the three entities. UFC General Manager Jeff Christiansen says the votes will be counted and tabulated Monday April 20.

Christiansen says if approved by voters, the new Company’s name will be Cooperative Farmers Elevator with its corporate headquarters in Rock Valley, Iowa and the remaining Co-op offices remaining open in Ocheyedan and George, Iowa. FEC General Manager Mark Finck says there are several benefits a merger would bring to their farmer members.

Finck says if approved the new board will be made up of directors from all three co-ops.

Should the merger be approved, Cooperative Elevators Cooperative General Manager Rob Jacobs will be CFE’s new General manager and his office will remain in Ocheyedan.
