The crude oil planned to be transported in the Keystone XL pipeline is especially dangerous. That is one of the messages behind the “Harvest the Hope” concert that was held Saturday north of Neligh Nebraska. Over eight thousand people gathered at the Tanderup farm to listen to Neil Young and Willie Nelson, who headlined the concert.
Susan Casey-Lefkowitz, director of programs for the National Resource Defense Council, said the source oil is a real danger………….

Casey-Lefkowitz says the concert is symbolic of the opposition to the pipeline in rural Nebraska…………..

Casey-Lefkowitz says they plan to use the money from the concert to expand their message…………

Based on ticket sales alone, the concert raised over three hundred fifty thousand dollars.

Trans Canada, who is building the pipeline, says it will be the safest pipeline built in the country. They are still waiting on official approval from the US State Department for the international border crossing.
