The Weekend File – Yankton City Manager Amy Leon on Another Busy Year…

The City of Yankton had another eventful year, especially as the state and region continued to recover from the eighteen months and more of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The year was wrapping up with another report of strong sales tax growth. City taxes were up over twenty two percent in October, which put taxes up over eleven percent for the year. Despite the good returns, Leon said they will again budget carefully due to expected increases in costs due to inflation.
