Welcome to the Weekend File, a public affairs presentation of WNAX News.
For a number of years, the group known as M-SAC, or the Missouri Sedimentation Action Coalition, has been working to find solutions to the ongoing sediment flowing into Lewis & Clark Lake. At the current rate, the lake may lose much of its capacity by 2050, and hydro power production at Gavins Point Dam may be impossible by 2090.
The group met with the Corps of Engineers in Yankton this week.
Paul Boyd and Greg Johnson from the Corps led a discussion about ongoing studies and possible options….https://soundcloud.com/wnax-radio/msac-corps-519?si=e9a0378d1c5f4aa893152d6a78ed96b7&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing
The group will continue to work with the Corps and the Congressional delegations to find funding for future studies and hopefully some action..
