The Yankton City Commission this week held a work session to discuss a pension plan for volunteer firefighters.
The Yankton Fire Department currently has a full time Chief and Assistant Chief and about 35 volunteers.
They get paid for each call they go on, but don’t have many other benefits.
City Manager Amy Leon led the discussion and talked about how other departments work with their volunteers……..
