The Weekend File for September 6, 2020. Replacing a Lost Bridge & Wheel Tax Talk

In March of last year, a wall of water and ice swept down the Niobrara River destroying the Mormon Canal bridge on Highway 12 near Niobrara. While a temporary one lane bridge opened last August, traffic was severely limited until this week. The new, permanent bridge was completed and dedicated. The dedication program was opened by Nebraska Department of Transportation District Three Engineer Kevin Domogalla.

The bridge was one of dozens that were damaged or destroyed by the massive flash flooding last year.

Also this week, the Yankton County Commission talked about raising the county wheel tax. Commission Vice-Chair Joe Healy led the discussion.https://soundcloud.com/wnax-radio/weekend-file-for-9-6-2020
