Despite more rain, two games were completed at the College World Series Tuesday, including the elimination of a second team from the eight team field.
Florida’s Jackson Kowar struck out a career-high 13 in 6 2/3 shutout innings while topping Texas in a 6-1 win eliminating the Longhorns from the College World Series.
Earlier in the day, Jordan Westburg hit a grand slam, doubled and drove in seven runs and Mississippi State continued its surprise postseason surge by beating North Carolina 12-2 in a winner’s bracket game.
The College World Series game between Arkansas and Texas Tech has been postponed because of the threat of rain in the Omaha area Tuesday night.
The Razorbacks and Red Raiders will play their Bracket 2 winners’ game on Wednesday. The Bracket 1 losers’ game between North Carolina and Oregon State will follow.
