The Yankton School Board officially began the 2016 – 17 year at their meeting last night by swearing in new members, and re-organizing.
Retired teacher and counselor Terry Crandall was sworn in to his term. He filed for one of the two open spots on the board. Since there were only two candidates, he did not have to go before voters.
Crandall says he is happy to be back in public life……

Crandall previously served two terms on the Yankton City Commission.

Crandall says the board has to work though some major building issues…..

Crandall says financial issues are always a major issue…..

Incumbent member Sarah Carda was also sworn in for another three year term, and elected board president.
