Northwest Iowa has a new Iowa State University Extension and Outreach crops specialist agronomist.  Leah Ten Napel assumed the duties following the retirement of Joel DeJong at the end of August.  Ten Napel calls northwest Iowa as home.  Ten Napel says within her nine-county region, there has been a wide variety of yields and crop conditions with yield potential also very widespread.  The new Iowa State University Extension agronomist talks about the wide range of yields within her area.  Ten Napel says if farmers were fortunate to receive timely rains, they they had a good yield.  But if farmers did not get the rains, their yields have been greatly reduced.
