Though South Dakota has been ranked as the most dangerous state for teen drivers, the cost of insuring teen drivers is among the lowest in the country.

A report from InsuranceQuotes ranks South Dakota the fifth least expensive state to insure teen drivers. A couple adding a single teen driver to their policy would increase their premiums by 59 percent.

Laura Adams is Senior Insurance Analyst for insuranceQuotes. She says that’s good news for families in a state where rates are already lower than average

Adams says rates for teen drivers are still rising across the country

At the top of the list is New Hampshire, with an average premium increase of 125 percent per teen driver.
