The Ag Land Assessment Oversight Advisory Task Force of the South Dakota legislature is meeting today in Pierre.

Representative Julie Bartling of Gregory is a member of the task force, and says they are still watching counties catch up on the new process…

 

The property tax system was changed in 2010 to assess land based on its productivity rather than comparable sales prices.

Bartling says changes in land use are still a challenge to the new model…
