Tax Reform Debate Continues in the Nebraska Legislature

Tax relief debate has hit the Nebraska legislative floor with an uncertain outcome ahead.
Senator Brett Linstrom of Omaha backs the bill which would cut the top state income tax rate by a percent and change the valuation method for farmland. . .

But, Senator Bob Krist of Omaha says the focus of the bill is off. . .

Lawmakers debated the bill for three hours without taking a vote. If the issue is to come to a vote, the sponsor must convince the Speaker he has the 33 votes needed to overcome a filibuster of the bill.
