The approval of the tax overhaul bill has experts planning for the upcoming tax season now. Omaha CPA Bob Berger says there are some big changes – especially when it comes to deductions.
Berger says if all goes as planned the majority of the bill kicks in at the start of 2018.
Berger says state and property tax deductions are basically going away but Nebraskans can still claim up to $10,000 in those two categories combined. He says a family of four earning about a median income of $73,000 will see about a $2,000 tax cut.
