The Ag Land Assessment Implementation and Oversight Advisory Task Force of the South Dakota legislature holds their first meeting of the summer Tuesday in Pierre. The task force was part of the legislation that made the change to a productivity model of assessing ag land for property taxes.
Task Force Member, Senator Craig Kennedy of Yankton says they have been waiting for an updated soil rating study……
Kennedy says they need the study to determine if any changes are needed in the formula…..
Kennedy says they have heard some complaints from west river landowners…
The task force will also get an update on issues counties have had in putting the new assessment process in place.
